A bright patchwork cover combines the strict geometry of colorful squares with a delicate light-green crocheted edging. Contrasting areas of turquoise, pink, burgundy, purple, green and dark blue create an energetic composition in the spirit of modern patchwork. The lacy border with small picot-like points softens the straight lines and gives the piece a finished look. The piece is made in a combined technique: the main panel is assembled by patchwork sewing, while the outer edge is finished with a lacy crochet edging. Colored squares are pre-cut from a single template with identical seam allowances. Seam allowances are pressed open or to opposite sides to reduce bulk where four pieces meet. By visible texture, the squares are made from woven fabric rather than knitted motifs. Therefore stitch quality can be evaluated only from the decorative edging. Before working the edging, the blanket edge was likely hemmed and worked with a preparatory row of single crochet stitches or finished with a needle stitch that creates even insertion points for the hook. Such a row stabilizes the fabric and prevents puckering. The light-green border is crocheted in the round for several rounds. At the base there is a dense mesh stripe alternating double crochet stitches and chain stitches. The final round forms repeating lacy points or small picots directed outward. At the corners stitch counts are increased so the edging turns freely and does not curl. Tension is generally even, but after wet-heat treatment it is helpful to carefully arrange each repeat and pin the picots until fully dry. For an even cleaner result, join the start and end of round rows invisibly and hide yarn tails inside dense stitches.

Delicate hand wash or machine wash at 30 °C recommended, separately from light items and using a color-catcher sheet: saturated patches may bleed. Use a liquid detergent without bleach, choose a minimum spin up to 600 rpm. Do not wring the piece or pull the lacy edging. Dry flat, spread out on a horizontal surface, shaping the corners first. Iron the fabric part from the wrong side at moderate temperature using a cotton cloth; steam the edging without pressure. Store folded in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
