Caramel Bear Cubs 🧸

A duo of cozy knitted bear cubs in a soft powder-pink and milky palette looks very gift-like: satin bows add festivity, and the classic shape makes the toys recognizable and cute. The stockinette is generally neat, the stuffing holds the silhouette, and the faces are expressive. On close inspection there is a difference in fabric density and a slight "step" where parts are sewn on, but in photos the piece looks tidy and very appealing.

Toys are worked with knitting needles from medium-weight yarn; the main fabric is stockinette with shaping achieved by increases and decreases. Parts (head, body, arms/legs, ears) are knitted separately with smooth curves: increases are distributed in "wedges", decreases cinch the shape without sharp angles. For neatness in those areas it's better to use symmetrical decreases (k2tog or ssk) so the lines meet evenly. Assembly is done by sewing the stuffed parts together (hollowfiber/synthetic filling). To make seams as invisible as possible, mattress stitch along edge ladders and basting beforehand are optimal: pin parts along axes (top/bottom/middle), then sew with small stitches. The face is finished with safety eyes and embroidered nose/mouth in black thread; eyebrows are embroidered with separate stitches — marking for symmetry is especially important here. Decoration — satin ribbons tied into bows. This accent supports the gift style well; to prevent the ribbon from slipping, catch it with a couple of hidden stitches at the knot. If you want to increase complexity and raise the level of finish — add face tucks, contrasting inner ear/foot pads, or textured elements (garter stitch strips, ribbing, boucle inserts).

Hand wash gently at 30°C with a mild detergent. Better to remove ribbons or place the toy in a laundry bag. Do not wring: press out water through a towel. Dry flat, shaping the limbs and ears, away from heaters and direct sunlight. Do not iron; if necessary — light steaming at a distance through a cloth without pressing to avoid compressing the filling. Occasionally shake and reshape the toy by hand.
