Mint Fairy 🌿

Minty tenderness for a little fashionista: a doll outfit consisting of a loose jumper, trousers and a headband with a large bow. Stockinette stitch (stocking stitch) emphasizes the soft fuzzy halo of the yarn, while white floral appliqués, lace trim on the sleeves and a wide ruffle add formality. Cuffs and the bottom of the jumper are worked in 1 × 1 rib. The palette is especially successful: cool mint pairs nicely with white. The work reads cohesive and cozy, although there are noticeable variations in stitch size in places and some small unevenness in finishing. The plush owl and the little mouse are props and are not included in the knitting assessment.

The main pieces of the set are knitted on knitting needles in stockinette stitch: knit stitches on right-side rows, purl stitches on wrong-side rows. When knitted in the round, all rows are worked as knits. The neckline, cuffs and lower band of the jumper resemble a 1 × 1 rib. The knitting direction and the fastening construction cannot be reliably determined from a single view. The jumper has a relaxed silhouette combined with voluminous sleeves tapered to the cuffs. The trouser legs are worked separately or in the round, forming the crotch area and the upper part to the doll's measurements. For accurate fit a swatch after washing is necessary: fuzzy yarn can significantly change fabric density and dimensions. The white lace ruffle and small floral appliqués are likely crocheted. Similar elements use chain stitches, slip stitches and double crochet (UK: treble) stitches; the exact pattern cannot be reconstructed here. The trim is attached without pulling the ground fabric tight. The bow is gathered from two voluminous parts with a center cinch and secured to the headband. Finishing includes weaving in ends, checking fastenings and gentle handling without stretching.
Materials
- Mint yarn with a noticeable fuzzy halo — approximately 70–110 g for a doll-sized set. Fiber content may include wool, mohair or angora, but cannot be determined from the photo.
- White yarn for the ruffle, appliqués, sleeve trim and headband — approximately 15–25 g; preferably matched in thickness and care requirements.
- Fine sewing thread in white and mint for inconspicuous attachment of decorative elements — a few meters.
- Headband base or a knitted strip; construction under the bow is not visible.
- Knitting needles approx. No. 2–3, crochet hook No. 1.5–2.5, tapestry (darning) needle and stitch markers. Tool sizes to be adjusted to yarn and swatch.

Until fiber content is confirmed, gentle hand wash is preferred at 20–30 °C with a wool-friendly detergent. Remove the set from the doll and extract any removable headband base. Do not rub, wring or expose to sudden temperature changes. Rinse in water of the same temperature, gently blot with a towel and dry flat, shaping the trousers, cuffs and ruffle. Do not dry on a radiator or iron with pressure. Do not steam the fuzzy surface or the voluminous bow directly. Store dry without crushing the decoration.
