The set is worked on knitting needles from fine baby yarn. The main smooth sections of the cardigan and sleeves are knitted in stockinette stitch: knit stitches on right-side rows and purl stitches on wrong-side rows. Cuffs, bands and the edge of the hat are finished with 1×1 or 2×2 ribbing, providing moderate elasticity and neat fit. The even fabric density indicates correctly chosen needle size and stable tension of the working yarn. The lace on the hat, skirt and trim sections is constructed from repeating lace repeats made of yarnovers, knit-together stitches and directional decreases. This alternation forms vertical lanes, leaves and fan-shaped motifs. To maintain stitch count each yarn-over is balanced by a corresponding decrease. The skirt’s widening is likely achieved by gradually adding stitches within the lace repeats, allowing the fabric to fall in soft gathers without a sharp flare. The hat is shaped to the crown with even decreases; the lower edge is finished with long knitted ties. The booties start with the cuff, then the instep, toe and sole are worked, after which parts are joined with mattress or neat sewing. The blue blanket is made as a separate complex lace panel with large botanical motifs and alternation of knit and purl sections. After assembly the items were wet-blocked/steam-shaped to open the lace holes and even the edges. For baby items it is especially important to secure ends on the wrong side without tight knots and to control the safety of long ties.

Gentle hand wash recommended at 30 °C or delicate machine cycle without intense spinning. Use a liquid wool or baby knit detergent; do not use bleach or heavily scented fabric softeners. Do not rub or wring: gently press out water using a terry towel. Dry flat in shape on a horizontal surface, pre-aligning lace motifs and ribbing. Do not dry on a radiator or in direct sunlight. If needed, steam from the wrong side through a damp cloth, do not press the iron into the texture. Regularly check ties for strength; use them only under adult supervision.
