A delicate milky set for a baby — a bodysuit/romper with a round yoke and a soft ruffle, a bonnet with a lacy band and ties, and miniature booties (plus a separate pair of tiny “socks/booties”). The fabric looks even and neat, increases on the yoke read cleanly, and the trim adds festivity without overloading. The combination of stockinette stitch with garter stitch and lace works especially well: the textures are distinguishable but remain airy and “baby-like.” The set reads as a finished gift — touching and very practical.

Knitting method and techniques

The set is worked on knitting needles with fine yarn; the main fabric is knitted in stockinette stitch, which gives a smooth “silky” surface that shows well in a light colour. The top of the bodysuit is formed by a round yoke with increases along raglan/round-yoke lines (visually the increases are distributed evenly, without coarse “steps”), which provides a soft fit on the baby’s shoulders. Garter stitch is also used in the accessories: it holds shape well, doesn’t curl, and is suitable for booties. The bonnet is constructed in a classic way: stockinette for the main fabric and a decorative lace band (yarn-over + decreases), then the edge is finished and ties are made (i-cord/cord or a twisted cord). Finishing includes careful assembly and blocking: a light block spreads the lace and stabilises the ruffle, giving the silhouette a more “shop-made” look.

Care instructions

Hand wash or machine wash on the wool/delicates cycle at 20–30°C in a laundry bag, using a wool/baby detergent. Do not rub or wring: press out excess water using a towel. Dry flat only on a level surface, arranging the ruffle and lace. Do not dry on a radiator. If needed — light steaming through a damp cloth without pressing (especially for the yoke and ruffle). Store folded, do not tie the ties tightly to avoid deforming the edge.
