Snow booties ❄️

Charming lacy booties in two moods: a soft blue and a bright red, with the red pair finished with a fluffy "eyelash" trim along the cuff — the warm-looking cuff instantly makes it gift-ready. The lace lanes read well, the toe and instep shape are recognizable, overall the work is neat and sweet. You can see it’s hand-knitted: tension in the lace varies slightly in places, and the fluffy trim needs a firmer edge to look completely factory-made.
Knitting method and techniques
The pieces are knitted with needles, most likely in the round on double-pointed needles or short circulars: cast-on with shaping of the toe and sole in a denser fabric (garter stitch or purl ridges give texture and stability). Stitches are then redistributed for the instep and leg, where the main focus is a lace pattern with yarn overs and knitting two stitches together (right-/left-leaning decreases form symmetrical "leaf" shapes). Fit is achieved by gradual shaping in the instep area: increases/decreases in the right places create the characteristic bootie toe shape. The top is finished with a firm edge (a few rows of garter stitch or ribbing), and the red bootie has an added decorative eyelash yarn trim on the cuff creating a fluffy border. Finishing includes weaving in ends with a tapestry needle and a light wet-blocking: open the lace gently without overstretching to preserve size. For a more professional look the cuff edge can be reinforced with an i-cord or a tubular cord — this holds the fluffy trim better and prevents wavy edges.
