A delicate “first wardrobe” set combining a raglan cardigan in pink-blue variegated yarn, pink shorts, a textured bonnet, miniature booties and matching wrist accessories. Garter stitch plackets and neat buttons give the cardigan a finished look, while soft ties complete the overall style. Stitches are generally even and the garment shaping appears well thought-out; slight waviness at the edges and a dense layout of props slightly reduce the sense of impeccable finishing. The palette is harmonious, airy and well suited for a newborn gift set.

The set is knitted with needles from solid-colour and section-dyed baby yarn. The cardigan was most likely worked top-down in raglan: the increase lines form the yoke, then the sleeve stitches are placed on hold and the body is continued as one piece. The main stitch is stockinette; the neckline, button plackets, cuffs and hem are worked in garter stitch. Buttonholes are worked on one placket and the buttons are sewn on symmetrically. The shorts are knitted in stockinette in the round or as two pieces with neat side seams. The waistband is a folded edge with elastic inserted, supplemented by a knitted cord. The lower edges are stabilized with several rows of garter stitch so they curl less. The crotch shaping is formed with increases and subsequent division into legs. The bonnet combines a ribbed edge, stockinette and a repeating textured motif with eyelet elements. The back is shaped with decreases or by joining a central panel to side pieces. The ties are made as an i-cord or a firm stockinette strip. The booties are constructed from the sole up to the cuff in garter stitch with toe decreases. Contrast cords are threaded through eyelets and tied in a bow. After assembly the set received a gentle wet-heat blocking.

Delicate hand wash at 30 °C in a wool or baby knit detergent is recommended. Do not soak for long, rub or wring. After rinsing, gently blot with a towel, shape to measurements and dry flat away from radiators and direct sunlight. Do not use bleach or tumble dry. If needed, steam through a damp cloth without pressure; treat elastics and the bonnet’s textured areas especially gently. Regularly check buttons, cords and the elastic waistband for secure attachment.
